Pre-dawn Poetry Thread
There's a kind of despair, when your friends
are scattered across the world; you see
how there is never a way
each can truly envision
the others of whom you speak.

Oceans divide your life.

You want to place all of it --
people, places, their tones, atmospheres,
into a single bowl, like petals, like sand
in a pail. No one can ever hear or tell
the whole story.

I think this would be so
even if we each lived
all of our lives on an island,
in a village too small to contain
a single stranger.

1. A Moon Poem
by Jerky LeBoeuf

The biggest thing
to ever hit our planet
made the moon.

Through quiet space it flew for ages
waiting on destiny
to intersect with the odds.

When it finally happened,
ice-cold space rock hit hot magma ball
and PLOP!

Just imagine:
Liquid dynamics
on a planetary scale.

2. Unsolicited criticism:
I've never seen the word "plop" in a poem before. Except for the word "plop," I quite like it, since I've never seem the phrase "liquid dynamics" in a poem before, either (I mean this in a good way).

4. No amount of description can match
the experience of a person through your own eyes.
