Your Least Favorite Thing on Facebook: Tell us!
Mine are all the stupid apps that let people send you virtual things, contest announcements, polls, and advertising. Spam! Each and every one. NO! I DO NOT want to adopt a freaking farm animal!

I hide the apps for a while, but if a "friend" keeps doing it, I hide him/her, too.

1. Yes, I don't like the cybergifts either

However, the only person I ever unfriended was a former DUer (someone I met in real life only once) who couldn't tell the difference between Facebook and Twitter. I swear she posted every thought that passed through her head.

I was unfriended by a fellow translator when I argued against his far-right libertarian statements.

2. I don't care if my friends want to play FarmVille or Mafia Wars
I just wish I could block all the announcements about it. (What the hell does "leveled UP!" mean anyway?) It sure would clean up my "live feed" if I could selectively block the lost animal and achievement announcements.

Oh yeah--and I don't want to have to select "live feed" over "news feed" every time I log on. I'm still not sure what logic is used to put some of my friends' topics at the top of the "news feed"--it sure ain't timeliness.

3. Click Hide on the post then hide that application.
You have to hover your mouse over the upper right corner.

You can hide Farmville and all posts coming from it. Or any other app.

I don't hide the person until I discover that's the only type of post he/she makes.

5. GASP! It's a whole new world!
I didn't know they added that! The last time I tried the "hide" feature it was an all-or-nothing thing--hide the person entirely or not (I did hide one DUer entirely because she would not, effectively, STFU--all day, every day, inane status posts).

Thanks! :hi:

6. you can block the announcements
click on the "hide" button and it will either say "hide friend" or "hide mafia wars (or whatever app)"

I hide all apps but Mafia Wars and farmville (the ones I play)
