Saw Avatar, my verdict:
Visually stunning, writing was cliched, and the acting OK. Solid B in my book. Worth the price of admission, but no the price of popcorn.

Besides it was nice to eat after the movie, and not have to hold a piss in for the better part of a hour. Going to have to pass up popcorn and drink more often.

2. My verdict: *** SPOILER (Maybe) ***

Disney's Pocahontas marries Captain John Smith and together they expel the Europeans from North America.

But the movie is amazing visually. Let's keep feeding those computer artists.

3. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
Why did the Na'Vi send the humans home? You know they'll eventually come back 12 years later with a bigger, meaner invasion force.

5. Because they've all been infected by a virus that will destroy our civilization...
They're won't be any humans coming back.

Next Question?

10. The Na'vi are obviously synthetic. They look nothing like the indigenous wildlife.
They were obviously created by the planetary intelligence so it could get inside our heads. And it was wildly successful too, so much so that it gained the ability to absorb a human mind with all its pathways and memories fully intact and transfer a facsimile of it into a synthetic body.

The human race is doomed. We were lured into a trap by an entity that played our greatest faults -- our greed for material goods (unobtainium) and our racism ("blue monkeys.")

When you see flocks of passenger pigeons blackening the sky, when dodo birds are tipping over your trashcans and scratching through your garbage like chickens, when hummingbirds start talking into your ear, when your fingernails look a little blue and break your clippers, be afraid... Life on earth as you knew it is over.

12. Plot fail.

They existed before the human race discovered the world.

Cameron just fucked up by not giving them six limbs.

"The human race is doomed."

No, in realistic story-telling, the navi are. The human race won't be going away and they will either develop less-invasive mining techniques or wipe the navi out.

6. Right?
That's the only thing I could think of at the end too. "They won a battle, not the war."

If that rock-thing was so important then no way the humans are staying away.

9. The acting was hit and miss, IMO.
Some of it was fantastic, some of it was phoned in. Which was kind of jarring actually. You're getting sucked into a movie despite the cliched plot and suddently *BAM*, you're reminded that they're just actors. Then you forgot when the acting gets good again and you get sucked in again, lather, rinse, repeat. :)

That was a little annoying.
