Ding Dong the bum is gone...which old bum...the basement bum
Moved out today...key back and everything.

For the first time in six years we have our gameroom back.

The bum has been with us the last three. Really he can be a great guy. He was best man at our wedding 20 years ago and hubby's best friend, but has really had a not so great life. This last time, he had no where else to turn so we took him in, but today he moved out!!!!!

Before that hubby's brother stayed with us and sometimes his (now x) wife and kids off and on.

It is time for us to have our house back.

I am so very happy.

2. Good for you
Now, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES allow anyone else back in there! If you must let someone crash at your place, Get a nice fold out couch but put it in the living room.

It's a little more obvious to temp guests if they have to fold up their bed every morning.

26. LOL! That may not work - a guest burnt a hole in our inflatable mattress
And went out (at 4 AM to WalMart) and bought us a new one. He stayed another three weeks. <sigh>

6. Kudos, but once again... I prefer the term cellar hobo for nostalgic reasons.
And btw, I still have a dupe key.

Just sayin!.

Oh, and it was 5 years and 6 months.

Let's be accurate.

PS... There's a real surprise behind that old sofa.

But you ain't heard it from me.

17. hehe. Sorry
but the bum was only here 3 years...

hubby's brother and his on again off again wife were here for a while, they got evicted when she was 8 months pregnant. They lived here for a while and when she left him, he stayed on for a while.

He is now serving in Iraq, they are divorced and both have new significant others,

10. I can already feel the weight lifted off us
I mean, I don't mind helping those in need, but when they take advantage of you, it changes things. You start to resent every little thing they do.

22. he moved in with a friend he met at his new job
he is a meat cutter at a grocery chain. He met a buddy and they hit it off and like to do the same things....drink ect.

He is there now because he needed to leave here.

Let him sponge off the buddy and disrespect his requests, it is out of my hair now!

24. So he didn't stay sober?
That's too bad. Since this is the case, change the lock as quickly as you can. And be prepared to be called all sorts of names other than a "kind, generous soul," if his current situation falls apart and he comes back to your door.

28. Glad to hear it. Change the locks immediately.
You might think about renting that room to someone, like a student--if somebody is staying in it, at least you might as well get some rent out of them. :-)
