Domestic Abuse Arrest Follows Packers Loss
LANCASTER, Wis. (AP) ―

A Grant County man apparently let the Green Bay Packers' loss to the Arizona Cardinals get the better of him.

Grant County sheriff's officials say the 45-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for domestic abuse after he grabbed his wife around the neck Sunday night. Sheriff's deputies say he told investigators he was ornery over the Packers' 51-45 playoff loss to the Cardinals.

He was taken to the Grant County Jail where he was later released after posting bond.

3. Supposedly domestic violence spikes to its highest annual levels on Super Bowl Sunday
I am not sure if that is an accurate statistic, but it is certainly plausible.

5. I seem to recall reading that it's a bogus, nonsense statistic.
I don't think there's any truth to it, but the rumor keeps making the rounds every January or so.

11. Okay
That's why I said "supposedly", because I can in no way verify its veracity. It's probably still a shitty day for law enforcement, with drunk drivers, et al, or at least the biggest day since New Year's Eve.

8. It's nonsense
Just another canard dragged up by haters of all things sports around Super Bowl time.

4. "Ornery"?
"Ornery" is throwing your empties over the neighbor's fence. Grabbing your wife around the neck is ASSAULT.

15. I gave up my playoff tix (from the boss) so someone else
could go....I get to go to all of the AZ games....I'm kinda the boss' favorite.

Anyway....he got some nice pics of Rodgers throwing. I could send you some, as I'm gonna print and frame a few for my Pack fan.
