CONFESS!! Your secret unreasonable fears:
Myself, I'm convinced one of these days I'm going to drop trou in a public restroom (or worse still be raising trou) and *plop* my wallet will fall out of my back pocket and into the drink.

You?

3. Bees - any kind but especially wasps
I will knock an old lady down, and push a small child out of the way, to get out of a room with a bee or a wasp in it.
I once (almost) threw a NYC Yellow pages through a sliding glass door trying to kill a wasp.

HATE 'EM!

one day loading my infant and son into a shopping cart a bee kept harassing me and my kids. i kept swatting at it yelling "go away" while both trying to keep it away from my kids and get the hell away from it. i kept yelling at it while running into the store with the cart waving like a maniac.

dropping my keys down a storm drain or into a porto pottie. Whenever I see a storm drain, I clutch my keys just a little harder.

And I make sure my keys are very secure or not even with me when entering a porto pottie.

Whenever I get up at 2 AM to pee, I leave the bathroom, turn off the light, and with my eyes not completely adjusted to the dark I see that thing at the end of the hallway and have a miniature stroke.

It's vaguely reminiscent of this:

This includes:

-Tall buildings
-Rooftops
-Bridges (especially since the collapse of the bridge in Minnesota)
-Balconies
-Climbing trees
-Planes, helicopters, hot air balloons, or any other kind of witchcraft flying contraption
-Mountains with a sheer drop nearby
-Driving anywhere near cliffs
-Elevators
-Chairlifts

Maybe some day I will conquer my fears and go skydiving.

For now, though, I'll stay here on planet Earth.

26. Driving
Although I tried many times, I never got my license because of my fear. And people look at me as if it's the craziest thing they've ever heard. It's perfectly okay to be scared of flying, heights, bears, bees and even balloons...but driving? No, that's just weird.

vision problems, physical inabilities, traumatic accident - all sorts of lies. Then I realized, and told the incredulous ones - hey, a scared driver is a bad driver, so thank me for keeping you safer on the road! Funny, though, that I'm absolutely fine as a passenger.

30. My sister suffers from this
Has to do with confronting fear - and, in her case, admitting that several of her male relatives (including me) are not primitive beasts. She has told me that it's hard for her to beleive that there is anyone driving a tractor-trailer - and my uncle just retired from 3 decades of petroleum hauling, with an exemplary safety record.
