Need help from teh Lounge, please
I need the name of a famous and/or classic painting where the subject concerns gossiping, whispering or conspirators. Hopefully one that's old, like pre-1900's old.

Anybody know of something like that?

Les Noces de Pierrette
Picasso created this painting during the most critical period of his life, when he suffering of continuous depression from the death of his friend Carlos Casagemas.

The paintings considered as a blue period masterpiece. Les Noces de Pierrette (translated as ‘The Marriage of Pierrete’) was painted in 1905, a time when Picasso faced poverty early in his career.

In this painting, Picasso uses many shades of blue. The blues help express the somber mood of the painting.

Picasso portrays rich socialites gossiping and suited up in gowns and top hats yet no person seems to express any real emotions.

This being done in one of the most down and out points of his life, Picasso was probably implying that, that was not a happy life either.

In 1989, it was sold for US$49.3 million.

21. I'll have to look for it when it comes out on DVD
Edited on Mon Jan-11-10 05:23 PM by blogslut
I don't have a teevee machine anymore. Actually, I haven't watched Masterpiece Theater since I Claudius. I did re-watch the Henry VIII and Elizabeth thingies when I had a Netflix account. Sadly, that's gone too. :(

EDIT for a caveat: I do own a teevee machine but it's a tube teevee and only works for watching DVDs and playing video games.

23. PBS is all we watch
and the only reason we still have a TV. Actually, my husband worked some magic so we can get it without through a computer and flat panel monitor so we didn't spend squat when people were supposed to be buying converter boxes.

I think there are already DVD's out of Cranford, as the orginal series is a couple of years old. Judi Dench is wonderful in this series.

grew up on the streets and started as a sign painter for small shops.
