I think you're double-spacing your dot lines.

Still experimenting with the format of these posts -- wish we could use italics
and indent further.

Anyone have some tips on formatting these posts a li'l more effectively?

Let me see if I can get the dots now.

We can use italics; here's how: [] with the appropriate letter inside, in this case i. At the end of the word italicized, do this: with the slant in front of the i.
.
You can do the same for bold: b, or underline: u.
.
