Tacoma bloodmobile trading beer for blood

A Tacoma-based blood center offers donors a trade: give a pint of blood and get a pint of beer in return.

Cascade Regional Blood Services says the promotion has worked so well at six Tacoma pubs and breweries, it's expanding its "Give blood, get beer" offer to its bloodmobile for pubs in Federal Way and Steilacoom.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports donors who are at least 21 years old are given a coupon for a free pint of beer. The pub must wait at least four hours after the blood drive ends before donors can cash in on their free pint.

2. What can I say,

They used to prescribe it to mothers who had just given birth in Ireland to help build up the iron in their blood.

4. The very last time I ever rode my motorcycle drunk......
.
...was long, LONG ago. The factory I was working at (the old Slinky factory
in SE Pennsylvania) gave us the afternoon off to donate blood.
.
We, being the thrifty and none-too-bright sorts that we were, realized that,
being a pint low, it would be much easier to raise our BA levels at the nearby
pub. Without ever intending to, I closed that bar.
.
Luckily, I lived two miles away... STRAIGHT down an old state highway.
.
Woke up the next morning and opened my eyes.
.
OMG!!! I'VE GONE BLIND!!!!!
.
Tried to sit up.
.
OMG!!! I'VE BROKEN MY NECK!!!!!
.
As it turned out, I had fallen back on my bed without removing my dark-visored
full-face helmet. When I stumbled out to check on my bike, it was laying on
its side in the gravel. Apparently, I had forgotten to put the kickstand down
and just crawled out from underneath it and left it lying there.
.
Learned my lesson but GOOD, did I!!!!
.
