8. At 56-57 I tried to let my hair grow for a year without cutting

and it just didn't work. I do have hair, but it just wouldn't grow properly like when I was in my 20s. It has just enough wave and curl for it not to grow well and simply make me look like a bum. I'm betting there are lots of women who couldn't get their hair to grow to their waists.

However, I am trying to go for the 1 year beard and that is going nicely. It's full and actually has a wave to it that follows the lines of my face.

and I know what you mean about the long hair not growing correctly.

I actually do have a fair amount of hair on my head, and I grew it out really long a few years ago, but it just did not come in like I had hoped. It was very long and thick in the back and on the top...but not so much on the sides...so now I went the other way and keep it cut short...looks good that way. :hi:
