So, I saw a psychiatrist today, and...
no clear diagnosis yet. Apparently there are probably multiple things wrong with me. I also got the psychiatrist who's going on vacation for a month and a half, so for now I get 100 mg of seroquel. Oh yes, and I'm getting fully assessed and diagnosed by an apparently really good psychologist soon. That'll be good. Small blessings, right?

Oh yes, and I might have borderline personality disorder. DO NOT WANT. >_< DO NOT WANT AT ALL.

1. Don't despair. I have a friend with BPD. He worked hard at his therapy and he is doing great.

2. I hear you on the do not want. On the other hand, I was really relieved to get a diagnosis because
it not only meant getting some treatment but it also cleared up that most of the crazy stuff I did was due to brain chemistry and not a weak moral character. I cried when I finally realized that.

Here's hoping things will pick up for you from here.

3. Many people have "multiple things wrong" as you say
Are you keeping busy? Are you getting out of the house? Exercising?

You are spending a lot of time worrying. It's going to make you old. ;-)

You know... just because that one doctor didn't do enough by ONLY prescribing exercise, does not mean exercise wouldn't help.

Get out there... live!!

p.s., I know it is easier said than done. But don't give up. You can never give up.

:hi:

4. You are not any different than you were before diagnosis.
The only difference is that, if it is a good diagnosis, it helps you identify what needs to be addressed, and how. Clarity can be a great thing. Many borderlines go through their entire lives unable to understand, address, or accept the problems that cause them and others so much pain. You should be very proud of yourself for taking steps to get what you need.

7. Is the seroquel doing any good for you?
I'm hoping it will help some.
