The quality of light on the mountains has fascinated me since I moved here from MA about a decade ago. And it's constantly changing! For the first two years I lived here, every night I'd look at the mountains and think, "I always thought artists were imagining mountainscapes, when in fact, they were just painting what they saw!" Here's another, taken about 15 miles down the road from the first shot:

72. It's called the glory hole and its the overflow for the dam
Here are a couple of photos when the lake is lower. The last one is a DU blow-out but gives you an idea how much water can move through that sucker.
