1. If you're asking because you need to address something, one L seems more common
as a first name, two Ls as a last name, but there are two L first named people too.

6. Call her back and say "It didn't go through. One or two L's?"
I work in an office and do this all day. Trust me, she's been asked before.

I don't even have a direct number so I am gun shy about calling (and I have phonophobia anyway - ha)

17. I did.
the two L's bounced. Of course now I am sitting thinking maybe I spelled something else wrong:rofl:

I sent it read request and asked for a reply in the body, but of course this is from an organization that didn't return calls for 3 months so who knows what I will have to do to get an answer? If I don't get something back I will call on Tuesday (again).

12. If she wasn't a loser...
she could get a gig in a proper venue and wouldn't have to hang around in that union bus station playing for loose change.

18. If it's a transmission it's spelled with two L's
Generally it's one L if a first name, and two L's if it's a last name.

19. Add this one to teachers' nightmares:
Alison
Allison
Alyson
Allyson

Could be any of the above--- and we are expected to remember!

20. There are no correct spellings of a name. Usual yes, but not
correct. A name is a unique item, and many people take delight spelling theirs in a distinctive way. dc

22. oh I know!
and I did ask about "usual"
she spelled it for me so I am pretty sure it was conventional but she could have easily said L OR LL as she was going pretty fast and I was on a cell phone that isn't always real clear...
