Brad Paisley's dad saved a life at Wichita's new Arena's first concert
http://blog.cmt.com/2010-01-13/brad-paisleys-dad-helps-save-a-life/

There's a country song in here somewhere. And Doug Paisley gets to play the hero. Because here's what happened on Saturday night (Jan. 9) at the Brad Paisley show in Wichita, Kans. Paisley's dad Doug saw a man on the floor in an arena hallway in some kind of distress (which turned out to be a heart attack), and he got down to business right away and started performing CPR along with another man. The man having the heart attack turned out to be an venue employee. And Doug Paisley, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, knew just what to do until the paramedics arrived. He was even getting the venue's automated external defibrillator ready. But then he said, "I kind of backed off and let (the paramedics) use theirs." Sounds to me like the elder Paisley was at least half the man he didn't have to be

Paisley opened Wichita's new arena and his dad was with him. He saved an arena worker when he found a man on the floor.

How cool is this?!!!

1. "He Didn't Have to Be"
I don't listen to all that much country, but this is a good song. Looks like his dad is really a good ideal to shoot for.

When a single mom goes out on a date with somebody new
It always winds up feeling more like a job interview
My momma used to wonder if she'd ever meet someone
Who wouldn't find out about me and then turn around and run

I met the man I call my dad when I was five years old
He took my mom out to a movie and for once I got to go
A few months later I remember lying there in bed
I overheard him pop the question and prayed that she'd say yes

And then all of a sudden
Oh, it seemed so strange to me
How we went from something's missing
To a family
Lookin' back all I can say
About all the things he did for me
Is I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be

I met the girl that's now my wife about three years ago
We had the perfect marriage but we wanted somethin' more
Now here I stand surrounded by our family and friends
Crowded 'round the nursery window as they bring the baby in

And now all of a sudden
It seemed so strange to me
How we've gone from something's missing
To a family
Lookin' through the glass I think about the man
That's standin' next to me
And I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be

Lookin' back all I can say
About all the things he did for me
Is I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be

Yeah, I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be
Because he didn't have to be
You know he didn't have to be

2. that is a good song
Paisley has a few good songs I like.

He was a great act for the first concert. Upcoming concerts are Elton John and Billy Joel together and Nickelback. George Strait and Reba are also coming. Taylor Swift is also on the list, but I really don't like her at all
