They Might be Giants - The Other Father Song

1. What's the movie about?

2. 11-year-old girl with parents who are doofuses and ignore her; finds a seemingly better life...

...through a portal to parallel world with her 'other mother' and 'other father'. Very much an Alice in Wonderland/Hansel & Gretel tale, except the real world characters are in some ways more nonsensical than the alternate world ones.

It's real stop-motion animation, not CG, so the work that went into it is phenomonal. the music is excellent, not at all cliched or formulaic. I've watched it a few times, once with the director's commentary.

...very balkan-esque music. Plus: they're cute. :)
