4. Thanks. I had few power tools at the time...

...and it was a challenge to make some of the parts. Some of the people in the "amatuer telescope makers" forum there have machine shops at their disposal.

There are some really serious telescope builders out there who grind mirrors and have wood and aluminum work that would knock your socks off.

9. Nice scope

I helped a build a 17" reflector when I was much younger.Grinding the lenses really sucked.One of the others screwed up near the end and we had to start all over.That sucked.Months of work down the drain in an instant.These days I recommend that people go ahead and buy a mirror from one of the optic companies.

10. I'm glad I was able to get a top quality 6" mirror when I did.

Besides the Chinese importers, I'm not aware of anyone who makes them anymore.
