Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

I have another busy week. So Mea Culpa in case I won't be able to reply. Tonight I work at the groceries store. Till yesterday I thought I had the whole weekend off. WRONG!!!!!!!!! Someone got sick and I have to work Saturday from 9 to 5 x(
Still planning on going dancing with friends Saturday night though.

My mood didn't improve considerably since Monday. But I figured out why I am in a shitty mood this week. Can you say PMS x(

1. Good Morning MissHoneychurch!
:hi:

Why are you always up so early and I'm always up so late? Yeah, I know, it's mid-morning for you... ;)

Y'all have such nice-looking streets over there, too :D

Here, read some of this site and you'll feel better: http://notalwaysright.com/tag/grocery-store

:hi:  :loveya:

Don't I wish I wouldn't have to be up so early these days ;)

Thanks for the link. This one is funny:

Customer: “Where’s your peanut butter?”

Me: “Aisle 5, just past the bread.”

Customer: “Thanks, man…”

(20 minutes later, I’m also called up to work as a cashier. The customer comes through my line.)

Me: “Did you find it alright?”

Customer: “Weren’t you just over in like… five places?”

Me: “About there, yeah.”

Customer: “Are you God?!”

 Thanks for making me laugh

I'm up a little earlier than usual, but I had a good nights sleep so I'm in a good mood already. Good way to start the day huh?

Awwwwww . . . working on the weekend? Glad to hear that you are still going out, but you know when Sunday morning rolls around, you'll be draggin. ;)

A friend gave me an amaryllis bulb as a Christmas gift and it's just starting to bloom, so I have a picture of the day for you too!

11. Sure thing!
I've got lots of good mood to spread around! ;)

As far as Sunday goes, when you get up (late of course) don't even get out of your jammies. Make yourself a hot cup of tea, grab your book and head for the couch and alternate between reading and napping. Now that's what I call a perfect Sunday!

16. Good morning
I love the building in your picture.

I hope you have fun this weekend even though you have to work. :pals:

There is no outdoor work here where I live. I know I always talk about the weather but this is significant, it's rained twice this week and it's now on it's third round of rain which is very heavy. There is some small floods in areas and it's expected to break a Phoenix record of rainfall in a day. It's been statewide, there is over 9 inches of snow in Flagstaff where it's been snowing all week there as well.

The building is the so-called "Koifhus" (Wikipedia: Koifhus, also known as Ancienne Douane - 1480 (German Gothic)). It is an old custom house. http://wikimapia.org/9942073/The-Koifhus

The snow melted here by now :( I want the snow back. It looked less depressing with the white cover. I hope you won't get a full grown flood :pals:

Das Wort des Tages

der Augenblick (-e) moment

Einen Augenblick, bitte.
Just a moment, please.

Note: "Augenblick" won 4th place in a German contest for the most beautiful German word. It was submitted by Swiss contestant Sabine Brenner. She chose the word because in a clever way "it is too long for what it means and sounds so much more sensual than "Moment." This week we introduce the top five winners, with the number-one word on Friday. Over 22,000 entries were received from 111 countries for the schönstes deutsches Wort contest.

die Geborgenheit (no pl.) security, shelter

Er brauchte besonders in diesem Alter die Geborgenheit seiner Familie.
Especially at this age he needed the security of his family.

Note: "Geborgenheit" took second place in a German contest for the most beautiful German word. It was submitted by Annamaria Musakova of Slovakia (die Slowakei), who liked it because in her language it isn't possible to express the German concept of "Geborgenheit" (which also implies warmth, comfort, and safety). This week we present the top five winners, with the number-one word tomorrow. Over 22,000 entries were received from 111 countries for das schönste deutsches Wort contest.

die Habseligkeiten (pl) (meager) belongings, possessions

Das Kind nahm seine ganzen Habseligkeiten aus seiner Hosentasche.
The child took all his meager possessions out of his pants pocket.

Note: "Habseligkeiten" was chosen as the most beautiful German word by a jury that included the German singer Herbert Grönemeyer, film director Josef Vilsmaier, and writer Uwe Timm. Doris Kalka liked the word because it has a kind, sympathetic undertone. "Habseligkeiten" are the modest belongings of a child or a homeless person—rather than the wealth and possessions of a rich person. This week we presented the top five winners of a contest in which over 22,000 entries were received from 111 countries. - See All Top Five Words chosen.

As the brewman, I have bottled my first big batch of mead (11 1/3 liters) after 6 weeks in the fermenter. It should be ready in March.

I've been diligent, been running on the treadmill twice a week and outside on the weekends, weather permitting. How are the swimming workouts?

47. You can do it!
I believe in you! :D

I do all of that so I can play soccer and drink the stuff I make. Also, the brewman makes beer and soda. Just finished a new cherry soda, along with the orange and root beer. :9 I get the extracts at the brewshop. Making your own soda is easy and cheap. You can have all of the ingredients (soda flavor extract, water, sugar, and yeast) mixed together and into twist-top plastic bottles in about 20 minutes--that fast. :o It will carbonate and taste good in about 3 weeks--that's a bit of a wait. :P
