BREAKING: Country legend Willie Nelson weds Icelandic songstress Bjork in secret Vegas ceremony

CNN Las Vegas - Willie Nelson, the bearded, ponytailed legend of Country music, wed Icelandic songstress Bjork earlier today at a secret ceremony open only to his band members and her manager. Nelson, 76, described his 44 year old bride {legal name Björk Guðmundsdóttir} as "a real firecracker, a talented little gal. We already have recorded four songs for our duet album. Kris and Rita, eat your hearts out!"

Bjork cheerfully greeted reporters and introduced herself as "Bjork Nelson."

Ms. Yolanda DeVelbis, president of the Willie Nelson International Fan Club, replied with a terse "no comment" when contacted by our reporters.

Nelson is currently on tour in the Midwest. In June, he will tour Iceland with Bjork as his opening act. followed by the release of the couple's album "Generous Palmstroke" (named after the Bjork song of the same name, which will also be the first single to be released by the couple).

10. Actually I did. At the Guggenheim in NYC. We didn't know who he was at the time.

We just wanted to go to the Guggenheim. It was disturbing and at times nauseating, but I have to admit it stuck with me.

For some reason, the images that really got to me were the woman who was a double amputee and he had all those crazy animal legs made for her. I don't know why but those freaked me out.

I have to say that I resented the fact that it took up the whole damned museum. I'd rather have seen 20 other artists displayed instead of having to endure his vision.

I recall that amputee woman from the video, but most of all I remember that his sexual imagery was shockingly pedestrian. Cheerleaders, and a cat-woman, and a guy with a hammer. :boring:

Some of those icky, Vaseline-ish sculptures were kind of neat, though.

Still, I couldn't shake the impression that he was hopelessly caught up in himself.


On the other hand, during that same visit to NYC we also saw the Matisse/Picasso exhibit, and that was worth the trip all by itself!

12. Yeah, we must've been there around the same time. I remember being a bit annoyed

that the whole museum was dedicated to him. And yes, I agree about him. I'm guessing he might be rather insufferable if you met him.

The icky sculptures were fascinating in a gross kinda way.

The whole thing definitely stuck with me, but not necessarily in a positive way.

Still, that was a great trip. We always have a blast in New York.
