2. Wow, there are a lot of homophobic
and childish people in this world.

The cop/donuts one was funny though.

3. Hee, those are hilarious. We have a "STOP: HAMMERTIME" stop sign in my town, as well as a
STOP DROP ROLL one by the fire station. Heh.

6. Back in the late 1970s, a local synagogue had a sign vandalized......
The sign, popular at the time, read

"SAVE SOVIET JEWRY"

under which was scrawled

"WIN VALUABLE PRIZES"

The Rabbi left it up awhile, he thought it was funny.....

9. I did that once to a "Free Nelson Mandela" bumber sticker on a wall on campus.
It then read "Free Nelson Mandela with the purchase of any second Nelson Mandela of equal or greater value -- while supplies last."

11. I remember years ago...
that someone wrote on a wall, "JESUS SAVES". Another graffiti artist had added, "WITH THE WOOLWICH".

(The Woolwich was then a popular British building society. It has long since been taken over by Barclays.)

I also remember seeing an advert for some food product, featuring an excessively clean-limbed, respectable, 'wholesome' family. A graffiti artist had inserted speech bubbles, so that now Father was saying, "Smash the state!", Mother was saying, "Smash the family!" and young son was saying, "Smash all authority!"

Nigel Rees used to publish collections of particularly funny graffiti.

8. You forgot to post the NSFWWLOL warning
Not safe for workers who laugh out loud. No one who walked past my room in the past five minutes would be fooled into thinking I'm working.

12. Thanks for the LOLs! I have one outside my house
that the city keeps "fixing" and people keep "vandalizing." At the moment it's fixed and i'm dying to vandalize it again. It's the standard stick figure man with "Stop for me. It's the Law" Add a lobster head, pincers and the letter "C" in front of Law and it becomes just wonderful! Another local one is a stop sign that's become "Don't Stop Dancin'".

17. Let me tell you about the smartasses in Cambridge...
Cambridge, Mass, home of Harvard and MIT.

I saw an apartment building somewhere near Kendall Square on Mass Ave decades ago.

Written over the doorbell was:

SALIVATE

RING BELL

18. Mark Pauline did this kind of thing as art decades ago.
Here's an interview with him (billboard examples starting around 2:40) though he's mostly talking about Survival Research Laboratories:

I don't know why it's on a Dell site...

on the nose of a deer in a deer crossing sign to make him rudolf. Worked.
