Bed sharing 'drains men's brains!'
So THAT's their excuse!!!!!

Sharing a bed with someone could temporarily reduce your brain power - at least if you are a man - Austrian scientists suggest.
When men spend the night with a bed mate their sleep is disturbed, whether they make love or not, and this impairs their mental ability the next day.

The lack of sleep also increases a man's stress hormone levels.

According to the New Scientist study, women who share a bed fare better because they sleep more deeply.

I lose sleep because when I wake up I think what a beautiful person this is
lying there and I wonder if she'd mind if I just reached over there and....
It's hard.

5. Earlier studies have shown women are much lighter sleepers
so I wonder if this study didn't have a lot of built in bias.

I doubt it. I don't think either partner sleeps as well as s/he would alone. It's why upper class couples have always had separate bedrooms.

30. it's the opposite in my home
my wife could sleep through World War 2, while I've almost always been a light sleeper. Probably helps that she grew up in a big city in China.

Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 01:03 AM by blogslut
I don't like sharing a bed - with anybody. I especially can't stand someone trying to hold me when I'm trying to get some sleep. I've been I told push people out of bed when I'm sleeping.

know him as Paul, rather than Saul. He is more commonly known by Paul, so it's kind of confusing that you would question her on his name to begin with. :hi:

33. That was my first thought
Mr. MG's snores could wake the dead, and it seems he doesn't wake up for much. (Funny how when the kid is vomiting he never hears it...:eyes: ) I, on the other hand, wake up constantly, because of those Richter-scale snores.

that sounds familiar - my wife is 5'4" but barely 100 pounds soaking wet... and she seems to take up more room than me.

Heck, now that I think about it, my ex-wife was the same. She was probably 5'0" on a good day, but took up a lot of room as well.

46. with my wife now
she also usually uses a lot of extra blankets, too, even in the summer. So, I'm not only in danger of being crowded off to the side, but also swarmed over by blankets that will make it seem like I'm in a sauna.

With my ex, I don't exactly recall what she did, but I think I remember her sleeping at odd angles, but placed just right where I couldn't quite fit comfortably on either side of her.

and also takes up all the space, even in a king-sized bed. Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night and climb in on the other side!

28. That's my ultimate test for a partner.
If I can sleep well with them, then we're fine. But if I don't, I figure we're not really compatible. During my several years of traveling, I slept (sleep sleep, not shag sleep)curled up with lot of different women, so my theory is scientifically proven.

34. I didn't like the nights I woke up and my CAT was sleeping in another room.
.
I simply can not imagine not spooning (or being able to at a
moment's notice). I'm definitely a cuddler, and never understood
why other men didn't like that (as a general rule).
.
If I want to sleep in a different room than the person I'm
with, I'll invite one of my buddies over to spend the night.
.
Now...
.
...where is that cat?
.

45. Ellis Paul knows what you mean:

Wake up Gracie
Youre stealing the covers again
Its 4 in the morning
Decembers outside creeping in
Now 1000 times over I love you
1001 now its said
But if I want to sleep Ive got to find you
Your very own rollaway bed

Now Im a night person
Come home late from playing the bars
Youre tossing and turning
Spinning like Saturn and Mars
At 8 in the morning you wake me
With your coffee, your jam, and your bread
Youd be less likely to burn me
In your very own rollaway bed

Saturday we wake up
Were driving round town
Trying to find the perfect bed
You fall on the mattress
You faint like an actress
The salesmen are all turning red

Move over Gracie
I cant face sleeping alone
Without all that tossin
It dont even feel like Im home
Now 1000 times over I love you
1002 now its said
Baby I dont mean to wake you
But is there room in the rollaway bed?
