We went with the light blue '95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. After the deal was sealed theyt gave me a Leather baseball cap advertising the dealership, a travel mug, and took my picture with the car for their Wall of Fame. At first the radio, horn and power locks didn't work, but when I brought it back to the dealer, they just swapped out one of the fuses, charged me nothing, and apologized and now everything works! The AM/FM Cassete sound system isn't as good as the one in the old Tempo, but I plan on replacing it with a AM/FM CD player sometime down the road, I saw one in the Marinette Checker Auto store for about 65 bucks, and I know I can get my mechanic to install it for me for next to nothing.
Now comes the most important thing one has to do after bringing a new car home. The time has come to give her a name.
I've been thinking of a few:
Blue Meanie Agnes (an Old-sounding name for an Oldsmoblie?) Bobby-Sue (The first song to play on my favorite radio station after they replaced the fuse was Steve Miller Band's Take the Money and Run. Aretha. (The song that played on the oldies station when we pulled into the dealership yesterday to look at the car was Aretha Frankiln's R-E-S-P-E-C-T die Spaßenwagen (Yes, I know, you people who speak better German than I do, Wagen is masculine, but this car's a she, OK? I think, I'm entitled to use the feminie here.) Katrin (I picked this one out especailly for the '96 Contour I wanted so Badly. It's named after one of the main characters in the video series for my German class.) Eloise (Those of you who remember the game Interstate '76 know about this one) Lana I might have piccies when I get access to a digital camera next week when I go back to classes.
