After this weekend unadjusted for inflation, Avatar will become the highest grossing film in history

And James Cameron will again write history. Within 10 days time, it will have surpassed Titanic Domestically. Quite an achievement for one man in a lifetime. People are going back to see Avatar like they did to see the original Star Wars, and I know many people at work who intend to see it for the first time in the near future.


For those who think it is unfashionable to enjoy such an amazing movie, remember this, most people understand that the movies are fantasy, and today the movies still provide a great escape, even Netflix on your little TV's, for very little money.

2. After going back for the third time with my beautiful daughter to see Titanic when she was young

I thought long and hard about how anyone could top that movie. But now it's been topped. Good for Mr. Cameron, and good for everyone involved in Avatar.

3. I think Titanic is a great movie

I, however, didn't really like Avatar. The special effects were fantastic but I found the dialogue cheesy and storyline not particularly compelling. It was certainly a creative movie though.
