6. Turkey eggs are more expensive.
Domesticated turkeys are stooped (wild ones are real smart). It's easier to raise chickens, which lay eggs where they're supposed to, and more often. Duck eggs taste too strong. Guineas aren't much in the egg department either but they make great watchdogs.

7. My brother raised geese and goats...
.
...either because he had a "things starting with G" compulsion,
or for the eggs and milk, which he sold at a local health food
store.
.
Went to visit him when I got back after living elsewhere for
almost 10 years. He had become a gosherd/goatherd during
that interval.
.
"Go 'round the corner of the barn and look at my new tractor."
.
Climbed the 8-ft fence (with a moderate amount of difficulty)
and started around the corner of the barn. His THUNDERING
FUCKING HERD OF CARNIVOROUS ATTACK GEESE
caused
me to soil myself while flying back over the fence without
ever actually touching it.
.
My brother was leaning against his front doorjamb, chuckling
softly and endlessly. He thought it was 'bout the funniest
thing EVER.
.
He was a lonely, lonely farmer man and this was his one lonely,
lonely farmer man joke that he pulled on ALL his visitors. The
memories were enough to carry him through the hard, cold,
lonely, lonely Michigan winters.
.
I thought it was real fucking funny, too.
.
What was I talking about?
.

9. Canada Geese will ferociously defend
the egg they're trying to hatch. Even if that egg happens to be your golf ball.

So far, no goose has adopted any of my errant tennis balls. I guess they don't like the fuzz.

:hi:

10. I've heard it is because turkey eggs are tough
and taste bad.
