Why would any of you root for Manning and Co.?
I know we will have another two weeks of relentless ballwashing from the ESPN crowd, but there's no good reason for any of you to support the Colts over the Saints:

1. Manning is a right-winger; he donated serious money to Corker during Tennessee's last Senate campaign.

2. Manning has been sued for being a sexual harrassing dickhead, having stuck his junk in the face of a female Vols trainer (the taxpayers of Tennessee settled that one for $300K).

3. He throws his teammates under the bus. Say what you will about Tom Brady, Brett Favre, or Kurt Warner, they never blame a loss on Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, or Larry Fitzgerald.

4. He has whored out and endorsed pretty much every product up to and including Colon Blow Breakfast Cereal.

5. He plays for the most sanctimonious franchise in sports; the Colts bloviate about being "classy" while cranking up the heat in the visitor's locker room while a flu virus was going around the Patriots, used canned crowd noise on repeated occasions, and saw their team president scream "break his leg" when a Colts pass rusher was chasing Tom Brady, a stunt that nearly got him banned from the Gillette Stadium press box.

3. Well, the argument could go the other way
Last night, Poppy Bush and his lovely wife Cruella were special guests of Tom Benson, the owner of the Saints. So, like I try to mention to the folks over at Sports Forums, you need to keep out the politics from sport. The other reasons you have may be good ones, however. I have heard about numbers 2 and 4 (obviously), but numbers 3 and 5 are new to me.

He totally backed up Moss when there were attacks on him. Face it, Manning is the kind of guy who is used to getting what he wants in life.
Not that it makes the Saints any better. Most of the NFL is overrun by conservatives.

Can we just STOP stereotyping people who don't share our political beliefs? Thank you..:banghead:
BTW, there are many much more jackass franchises..Like the Baltimore Ravens whose fans continue to be hypocrites and bash the Colts while having a franchise that behaved exactly the same way.

26. Because some people can separate the player from the man.
I am a Vikings fan so Im pissed, but, I can't stand all the Saints love. The only reason half the people like them is because they feel bad about Katrina. Love New Orleans if you want but the Saints are over rated and got lucky in the win over the Vikings and are filled with just as many douchy people as any other NFL team. New Orleans is an awesome city, if you want to support them visit it, go to their restaurants their bars or donate to a local charity. Do not act like you are an honorary cajun or whatever a lot of people do. As an Alabama Alum I have hated Manning for a long time but he is the best QB ever. No debate. Sure he may be a right-winger and all that and for that I dislike his politics and his personal views. On the other hand he is an amazing player and his commercials are funny. I am pulling for the Colts because I dont like the Saints. Maybe just to piss off all the Saints fans I know but whatever.

27. I am too
I hated what the Saints did to Favre (they deliberately injured him so he couldn't play well, the helmet into his leg was bad sportsmanship). There were two touchdowns that should NOT have counted (his knee touched the green before the zone, and knocking over that tip of the orange pole without touching the end zone doesn't count). I saw several first downs that shouldn't have counted as well, but the Saints kept challenging and winning those challenges.

I am supporting the Colts because of the Saint's behavior on Sunday. I watched the game online (neutral site) and all the commentators agreed that the Saints were playing dirty tricks.

Manning-%64.8, 50,128 yards, 366 TD-181 INT, 7.7 YPA

Joe Montana-63.2, 40,551 yards, 273 TD-139 INT, 7.5 YPA(Manning tops these numbers)

Johnny Unitas-54.7 40,239 yards, 290 TD-253 INT, 7.8 YPA(Manning has the better completion percentage and TD-INT ratio but Johnny's YPA is very impressive considering the completion percentage.)

(This is a joke)Terry Bradshaw-51.9%, 212 TD-210 INT, 7.2 YPA(Manning tops these easily, you would have been better off listing Otto Graham, Steve Young, Bart Starr, many others)

Roger Staubach-57%, 22,700 yards, 153 TD, 109 INT, 7.1 YPA(Manning, easily)

Dan Marino-59.4%, 61,361 yards, 420 TD, 252 INT, 7.3 YPA(Manning wins why? Marino has 1,827 more pass attempts which explains the more yards and TD's and Manning still has some years left. If you take Manning's 7.7(if he continues at that pace) and times it with Marino's career pass attempts-(8,358)-it comes out to 64,357 yards. I'm sure he's on pass to pass Dan's career TD totals as well. You can make a strong case for Marino for sure but you gotta figure the better completion percentage and better yards per pass attempt)

The people who say Nawlins even though they are not from there have no cajun let alone french blood in them. The only thing they really like about New Orleans is Mardi Gras and think that because they went there once and got shit faced they are an honorary cajun. Real people from there who are cajun or a New Orleanian can do it all they want, its fun to go there and hear the people talk and a great place to people watch. But, I don't visit Boston and all of the sudden love chowda and drop every r in every word. Same as when people dont visit the South and automatically want to have sex with their family. That hurt a bit since I am from Bama. And only know of one or two family fuckers.

Actually Saints fans are really conflicted, since Archie Manning was the closest thing to God in Mississippi before he joined the Saints early on, and equally loved in LA. But that was long, long ago and N.O. is more than willing to hand them their hats and show them the door. With the game the week before Mardi Gras, if the Saints win there is going to be a bender in the Crescent City the likes of which hasn't been seen in a looooong while. I hope it confirms everything Pat Robertson thinks about us (even though I'm typing from far away these days).

And cried like a baby when Charles Woodson won the Heisman -- "B-but, that's why I came back for my senior year!"

He and most Tennessee fans still think he deserved it even though Woodson played both sides of the ball and on special teams for an undefeated team that won the national championship. Yet he got death threats from Tennessee.

That did it for me. Plus I love everything Drew Brees has done for NOLA and he's from the Big Ten. Go Saints!
