Some of the ladies I used to fly with:

The ones on the left.
The 'space helmet' ladies were Braniff.

Them wuz the days.
We didn't know it was sexist.
That hadn't been invented yet.
:hide:

Those were TWA's famous 'inflight only' paper dresses.
Every pilot carried a pair of scissors and the dresses got shorter as the flight progresses.

1. An inflight meal a few years before my time:

Circa 1952.

Hmmm...I don't see the complimentary pack of 4 cigarettes.
I guess the kids didn't get them.

3. Oh durn. Nobody likes my nostalgia.
I think I'm getting too old for this place.
Or maybe nobody's kicking my ass for such sexist BS out of respect for my advanced years?
whut.
evah.

6. I remember those.
I'm too close to geezerhood to use it in a disparaging manner.

19. ah, I think there was a romanticism about the whole thing, too
We just watched a really cool British film about airports, forget the title. It was very interesting, gave a great historical and sociological perspective and talked about how exciting it was to fly back then, and how expensive!

Those were just different times...

21. 'different times'...yes they were.
Playboy Bunnies.
The Bunnie Dip.
Brannif's "I'm Bambi, fly me."
Sex sold.
(Still does, actually.)

It was a simpler time, but I guess 'unenlightened'.
"If it feels good, do it."
It did feel good, so we did it.

I was a little older than the drug generation, but sure was part of the "pill" generation.
Sex without worry or (much) guilt.
Then came AIDS.
Oh well.
Nothing lasts forever.

23. I can remember the first time I ever FLEW in a commercial jet.
I was a Freshman in college. I wore a neat little (straight skirt) Jackie Kennedy suit, heels and stockings. Probably a girdle too although I've blanked that out.
Earrings. Gloves. I threw up in the cute little paper bag, too.
Now I may or may not be bothered to come up with relatively neat sweatpants. (And I don't see anybody else dressed any better either.)
Civilization as we know it may have already ended.

7. My dear trof!
I'm enjoying your trip down memory lane, sweetie!

I remember some of those ladies...

The PSA flight attendants were crazy!

And, I would never call you a geezer, either!

Thanks for sharing...

They used to wear buttons that said "Fly Me"

I had five living next door. They thought I was so wild with my long hair and all.

12. When I was a child we used to fly down to Florida every summer
to spend the season with my Father. We used to dress up, got meals, and since we were flying alone, a peek in the cockpit and pilot's wings. :-)

13. Ahhh nostalgia...
Reminds me of the whimsical times when I flew to Boston in the early 1960's...

Usually aboard a Mohawk Airlines DC-3 prop jobber....
