Robert Burns' REAL opinion about haggis
The Scottish people invented Haggis, Golf and Scotch. One out of three ain't bad.

Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns, wrote a poem about Scotch (Scotch Drink, http://www.electricscotland.com/burns/scotch.html), one about haggis (Ode to a Haggis, http://www.clanlindsay.com/ode_to_the_haggis.htm) and he doesn't seem to have been inspired by golf--perhaps because they were still calling it by its original name of "shit" rather than the modern appellation.

If one assumes the length of a poem is directly related to the poet's interest in the subject, we must note that "Ode to a Haggis" is a mere eight stanzas in length, while "Scotch Drink" is 23.
