Don't you hate when you discover someone has been dishonest?
If you find out that a friend has lied, do you get angry or does it just hurt your feelings? Or both?

1. Hurt? Not at all. Angry? Yes. Depending upon the subject matter, it can
cause some serious damage.

2. I'm no good at lying
Ya know what? Nobody else is either! Response is situational, from mild dissapointment to destruction of friendship. What kills me is the audacity of some of 'em - get caught in one lie, make up a whole string of 'em to cover it up! Yeah, that's the ticket....

6. depends. people lie for a gazillion reasons. not all of them affect me enough
Edited on Wed Jan-27-10 01:45 PM by La Lioness Priyanka
to be hurt or angry

i have a friend who says he is related to a famous actress. he is not. it make no difference to my life

i had a friend who claimed i threatened her partner. that angered me.

not all lies are created equal. people are self aggrandizing, and generally self aggrandizing lies don't bother me.

7. When they say they paid the rent but use the money to buy cocaine, well yes.
Especially when he also used the money I gave him to pay the rent.

That's my housemate from hell story from long ago. The guy also tapped into my phone line to make long distance calls to his girlfriend when I wasn't home. Like WTF, did he think I wouldn't notice??? My brothers and I got my money back just after he cashed a paycheck, and then I got the hell out of there. You know what's funny? He was a used car salesman!!! I suspect he crashed and burned a short time after that as his lies became exponentially unwieldy and his drug habit worse.

9. Depends on the situation, I guess
Little things, no, sometimes it's just an annoyance, and I always keep in mind for the next time, in case it ends up being a pattern. I kinda know that that particular person can't really be trusted. But the big things, like when my stepfather lied about my mom falling and hitting her head - he said it happened that morning when it really happened 2 days previously - oh, yeah, my blood boiled. I will NEVER trust that f*&ker again.

"I was thinking about what a friend had said. I was hoping it was a lie.."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T2Ao_xV9ew

Well, i dreamed i saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.
Look at mother nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
Look at mother nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.

I was lying in a burned out basement
With the full moon in my eyes.
I was hoping for replacement
When the sun burst thru the sky.
There was a band playing in my head
And i felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.

Well, i dreamed i saw the silver
Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying mother nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
Flying mother nature's
Silver seed to a new home.
