Back in the hospital again lipase level over 1000

was taking prednisone along with the Chemo and doing the taper of the prednisone. Sunday was the last day and I was happy that I didn't have to take it anymore. Had been feeling pretty sore in the right side abdomen since Thursday. It kept getting worse and then Monday night felt the same horrible pain center stomach that felt like a vise or rubber band going around to the back...sigh...

seems every time my colon is irritated, it also irritates the pancreas...


don't know what is going to happen now.

I don't know what is going to happen now. Maybe they never really got the pancreatitis healed, just masked it with the prednisone and chemo and when the prednisone was over, the pain became unbearable.

Monday and Tuesday I was on a drip...not morphine as I am allergic to it...but something similar. Slept most of the time. Tonight hubby left the computer so I could write lesson plans and things. My kids so do not deserve another sub.

depends on the lipase level after getting liquids today. If it is good, then we will try solid foods tomorrow...if that goes okay, then I can go home.

stay in the hospital back in October and November...

I got to have broth today. I am not pushing it tho. Last time around, I probably ate too soon so this time, I am just doing the broth and jello...but I still can NOT stand green jello.

19. Lipase level is down to 400 now. This is a good sign

praying for a snow day tomorrow so it doesn't cost me. I have no days left due to this crap.

20. My Dr just left. He actually apologized for not calling this Crohn's sooner and being more aggressi

we have been circling around this since 2003 when I had my first colonoscopy. They noticed some "irregularity" but called it IBS and told me that Amodium would work when I had problems. The problems worsened every year. I had my 2nd colonoscopy in 2006 and then one every year there after. After the 2nd one he started calling it ileitis and prescribed Asacol and by the time I went into the hospital in July, I was taking 18 a day. He added aciphex and dicyclomine to the mix. After the hospital stay in Nov/Dec they decided that that mix might have caused the pancreatitis. That is when he started the prednisone and the Chemo.

I could be looking at surgery for removal of some of the colon, but that is never a complete cure as Crohn's moves around. Additionally, I now have to watch for diabetes since the pancreas is where the insulin is involved. I get daily blood draws to check the lipase levels and before every meal, I get my finger poked to check my sugar level. I truly hope I do not develop diabetes as I am such a baby when it comes to needles and sticks.
