1. I've had both. Minivan.
Minivan is the most versatile vehicle I've ever owned.
With all the back seats out you can haul almost anything except large appliances.
And the mini is much more comfortable.
Maybe gets a little better mpg too.

2. better for what?
pickup more useful for hauling messy things like gravel, hay, garbage, etc and face it - looks WAY cooler

mini van is probably more useful over all, though

12. Never heard of blue wine.
Are you sure it's blue? If so, it's probably gone bad and you need to throw it out.

16. Pick up truck. Better mileage, better for moving stuff, less guilt about tossing trash back there.

bodies too easily seen. vans are better.

23. True, but what you save on bungee cords you end up spending on air freshener
I guess life's always about the trade offs. And deaths, too.

26. What is this guilt about tossing trash back there
my minivan usually had empty wine boxes, old take-out packages from Olive Garden, receipts from toll-booths.

My only regret is that the minivan did not have Sirius.

:hi:

21. Easier to live in a minivan
in this economy, no small thing. Plus stuff in a minivan is less likely to get stolen. I had a busted up minivan for years. I rarely even bothered to lock it up. Noone ever stole the stereo, which was actually worth more than the van itself. Bought myself a pretty blue sedan, and a few months later, no stereo.

24. My Montana minivan gets 26mpg, seats 8 and holds 4x8 sheets of plywood. - Minivan.
As far as I know, the longest pickup bed is 7' so you have to leave the tailgate open to put plywood in it. I can shut the hatch on the minivan with the plywood inside. My 84 Colony Park wagon could hold plywood as well, but they don't make ANYTHING that size anymore.

27. The bed of the pickup is good for carrying the underpaid house servants to work
But when you're traveling to the next bunco game with your posse you need the minivan for maximum comfort and also to keep the screwtop wine cool.
:D
