Legend has it (and Oliver Stone portrayed it that way) that Morrison met Manzarek on the beach after graduating from U.C.L.A. and sang the song to him. Manzarek said: "Let's form a group and make a million dollars!"

They exceeded that rather modest goal by a substantial amount that grows even to this day...

It's going well. I just finished my General Surgery rotation (known colloquially as 'General Slavery') and start Orthopedics in Seattle on Monday. Graduation in September. Can't wait... B-)
