She even wanted to give me a reading right there in the Apple section of Best Buy. She said she saw trouble all around me and could help. I said thank you and pocketed her business card.

1. Certainly is a new approach. Were you the only one so approached?
The weirdness and total chutzpah of the so-called psychic is humorous to me. Business must be bad or someone may be playing a trick on you.

2. Maybe you happen to look like the picture...
of Snow White in an illustrated book of fairy tales that she owns. Remember, the apple meant trouble for Snow White.

3. She wasn't a psychic, she was a Microsoft sales rep.
You were in the Apple section, therefore surrounded by "trouble", according to their definition.

5. No
You should be glad that you resisted her sales pitch.
I actually believe that some people are genuinely psychic; none would behave in the way you described.

7. Oh I don't know. I imagine the 'psychic industry' is hurting as much
as everyone else in the world economy right now, so maybe she had a vision that she should take a more aggressive and imaginative sales approach and stir up some business. And was psychic enough to believe this was a sucker type person who would fall for crap like that, a reading and all, for a special discount price.
There is no overhead here, no city license, no office rental, no phone needed, etc. Just pure profit.
Don't forget, o p did not toss out the card, she 'pocketed' it. What does that mean.

13. I pocketed it because I was being polite
what was I suppose to do - rip it up and spit on her?

21. I don't know why you would think of spitting on her. That would not
seem to be very 'polite'.
I don't go by or know about "suppose" to do or not do. I could surmise that what you should do is what you want to do.
I do go by the significance of what is done. If the card has now been taken from the pocket, and placed on your desk, beside the telephone, there is a significance to that.
I think you should determine what to do with your own life. You know what is best for you. I don't.

8. A woman once baptized me.
She said I needed to be rescued. I was working as a clerk in a department store and I just kept quiet and hoped she would do it and leave quickly. She did. I don't know what I was baptized into, but it was pretty funny.

18. Clever approach, actually.
1. You are in Best Buy, so you obviously have some disposable income.

2. Anyone into woo might be curious enough to bite.

3. If the target is unhappy, she might appreciate the empathy and bite for that reason.

You gotta give her credit for imagination.

They don't use "scare tactics" to get you to cave for a reading. Pay her no mind. And throw away her card.

31. You know...
Just because something is outside your realm of experience doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I have known several remarkable psychics.

Watch out with that limited thinking, WWMS--you might end up being closer in mindset to repukes than you think.

Do what I do and get a shirt that says "Do I look like a people person to you?"

If that doesn't work my Deathspell Omega shirt with the angel fetus on the back usually keeps them away.
