Doppelgänger Week looks like Facebook's next big fad

What does Facebook's Doppelgänger Week look like? Depending on who you are, it could look like a Simpson, Michael Jackson or, if you're lucky, Angelina Jolie.

In order to celebrate Doppelgänger Week, Facebook users switch their profile pictures to famous people they have been told they resemble.

3. I know, right?
Wasn't it their selling point that they were a kind of MySpace for grown-ups?

Well, so much for that.

5. On second thought...
I think I will skip the celebrity thing. Aiko Kayo has a beautiful life, she doesn't need me to mess things up for her! :P

6. As I said on Facebook...
...when you look like a weird mix of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Drew Carey, and Peter Griffin, you don't want to pursue this line of inquiry.

9. Second that!
Doppelganger week doesn't seem to be catching on. Especially since there's a few other FB memes going around as well (I also got some suggestions for "pose with brother or sister" week and "post a pic of your pet" week). So far, I'm passing, particularly since I can't think of any celebrity I resemble.

10. So, all my friends now have profile
pictures of either George Clooney or Megan Fox and talk like Don Corleone on Mafia Wars while asking me to mow their grass on Farmville (hey, they're friends, you do this for your friends!)

I've heard that the next thing will be 'MySpace week on Facebook.' It's fun, it's like you import your old MySpace page into your Facebook. In early March, there will be, according to rumors, 'J. D. Salinger week on Facebook.' If your wall scribblings don't look like what J. D. Salinger would have written, it'll be deleted and you can mow your own grass on Farmville.

Followed by 'We know you're 65 years old, but post these glam-shots from 30 years ago anyway,' and the eternal hit of all: 'Facebook: Where you can be in the same ole clique you were in Junior High and sorry you had to wait for it for twenty years, but we weren't around then!'

Can't wait for it! :woohoo:
