Jayzus! DirecTV tried to pull a fast one!
Last Sept 24, DirecTV called me on a marketing call asking if I could use more services (read: up my bill $$)

By that time I had decided to cancel and I told them so. I liked them at the time; it was just too much money.

The sales rep was startled: "You don't want sat TV? What will you do? "

Me: "I'll get DVDs from the library. They're free.

SR: "Oh."

So, they agree to close the account.

Or so I thought.


Yesterday, I get a COLLEcTIONS CALL from DirecTV while I was out running errands.

:grr: :mad: :grr: :mad: :grr:

They called AGAIN just now. I'm normally a very mild-mannered person, but I did nothing for a full 30 minutes except bark orders at two different reps! It was one of those automated dialers, of course, "This call may be monitored..." I replied "I certainly hope so!"

I'm appalled at the number of times I had to repeat that I DIDN'T WANT MY DIRECTV! Every time they came back on the phone from hold. :P Everything they say is designed to get you to reup with them. They don't acknowledge "NO!"

I made it plain to them that I did not order anything after September and ANY charges they accrued were because of their mishandling of the cancellation. I was not responsible for any of it because as far as I was concerned our business was concluded in September.

I still may file a complaint with the FCC.

2. Begin gathering names for a civil suit. Be sure to tell them which sites you've posted
to regarding gathering names and lawyers for a civil suit.

3. SN _ they did this to us even after we changed to Dish, and got rid ot our DirecTV equipment
which we owned. DirecTV sent us bills charging us for services when we had not had their service for over a year, and kept billing us theough disputes for almost 3 years!!!!! We went through their whold greivance
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I will search for some info for you - there are THOUSANDS of customer complaints about them online.
