1. Hard to believe no one ever saw this...
It was Rod Serling's MOMENT

Not just twist based fiction, but true humanity. Raw, at its core.

2. That was a very good episode.
Tugged at the heartstrings.

I love The Twilight Zone. A voice such as Rod Serling's is sorely missed. There is too much crap reality TV now, and CSI and Law and Order. It seems a lot of original programming with good writing gets canceled. I am still sad about The Sarah Connor Chronicles being canceled.

4. The saving grace of Night Gallery
Generally, NG was a lousy series, as Serling was afforded no creative input. But this episode--among the more absorbing dramas in the medium--proved to be one whopper of a consolation prize.

A bit of trivia: Serling originally penned a somber ending, in which our protagonist watches the bar's destruction amid a downpour. But the suits demanded something more upbeat.

7. Even as it is, the ending is sad
Yes, his office has gotten together to wish him well. But after that, then what? His wife is still dead, his life still over, his job gone and his world crumbled around him.
