No actual clip here. It was just on the local news.
Last fall, a bar in Newington, CT hung a sign inside calling for Naked Karaoke sign-ups, as a joke. Trouble was, LOTS of people started signing up and asking what the prize was.
The town quickly got wind of his "plans," and as any board of sexually repressed white suburbanites is wont to do, they freaked out and held emergency meetings in an attempt to stop the not-even-really-real event. Which of course, meant just one thing...
PUBLICITY!
Suddenly, people were coming from all over to sign up, asking "When's the contest!" So the bar owner sued for his right to hold a contest, saying it was not sexual and wasn't illegal.
Well, months later, a CT judge ruled tonight that the town of Newington's ordinances banning nude dance clubs had nothing to do with this guy's karaoke contest, which was not a sex thing or a strip show. The naked karaoke goes on!
Stay tuned.
