1. Ghost & Goblins
Easily one of the hardest video games EVER. If you did manage to survive the whole thing, the ending was so lame. All that effort for nothing :grr:.

2. Pac Man
The programmer never considered an ending so after about level 64 the game just crashed.

5. There were some Atari games that you could "flip"

You just started going through levels and all the colors would go all crazy and shit would start going crazy!

It was the best thing about old videogames! Like a built in acid trip!

9. You just reminded me of Gauntlet II for NES.
That one was a pisser. My friend and I played through all 120 levels to see what the ending was. When we finally finished, after about 12 hours, it just recycled back to level 1. ARRRRGHHH!!!!

21. I love Pac Man
What's amazing is that some people actually get good enough at that game to get to the 64th level. I consider myself to be fairly good at it and I usually only get up to level 5 or so!

10. Krusty's Fun House
I wasted a lot of hours of my life on that game, and when I finally beat it, what was my reward? Krusty gets into his little car and drives away.

16. That's the one
I did it on the Game Boy. Really challenging and fun game, just has a disappointing ending. Cheat codes readily available on the web, but I did it the old-fashioned way.

17. I really liked that game....
It hit me in the same spot that Lemmings did, the graphics and ambient stuff didn't matter, it was all challenge.

13. Any game that ends with a paragraph
I've played many of them, back in the 8bit days. And those games were mad hard. I've never witnessed the ending of a Mega Man game, but I imagine they suck b/c of how much time it takes. I'd expect a feature length film.

14. So many of them didn't have passwords.
If you wanted to finish you had to play straight through, or risk Mom turning off the TV or the NES crashing while you were sleeping. And some of them were looooong.

The first Mega Man is a good example. I remember the second being even longer, but I forget if it had a password or not.

15. Thats why the first Zelda broke grounds
You could save your game. Wow was I amazed. After months of trying to beat Nemo the Dream whatever the hell I found a better game that you didnt have to play all the way through in one sitting.

If I recall the first Zelda had an uninteresting ending but you could play through it a second time, and it was a bit different, which is fine by me.

I loved that game. I kicked Ganons ass.

18. I remember back in the NEW days
with Castlevania... My brothers and I kept the NES on for like a week trying to beat that game. We would battle up and get killed near the end then repeat. We would get close to the end and we would sleep so we could come back at it with a full tank the next day.

19. Final Fantasy Tactics!!!!!!! ARGHHHH!!!
Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 01:44 AM by Cat Atomic
Why did they add that little 10 second scene at the end??? You THINK that you won. You sacrifice yourself for the greater good. You're dead, but all was right with the world.

And then they show your best friend, Delita, walk in and stab your girlfriend to death.

THE END!

OHHHHH MAAAAN!!!!!

22. Might & Magic II for the Sega Genesis
I spent many long hours of building up my party, completing the multitude of different subquests, hunting down the best weapons, armor, etc., fighting my way through that long ass final cave, and solved the final cryptogram to save Terra from destruction. I expected something spectacular. What did I get?

A lame ass blue box, like the ones that appear after you'd won a battle, pops up and says: Congratulations, blah blah blah...you'll forever be remembered. And then the game continued as if nothing ever happened, and you could save the world over and over again.

Assholes!!! Give me back those hours of my life! :grr:

24. roadblaster was a real letdown
some lame fireworks and the designers of the game. BFD :eyes: It was an old game though. For newer games (new for me anyway) , Alien trilogy for PS1 was alot of work, the ending was kind of short. I felt robbed. Game was cool though.
