Too much beer and cash at the polls

ULM - A small village in southern Germany was ordered Tuesday to hold new mayoral elections when the winning candidate recently narrowly won the vote after distributing free beer and even cash ahead of the polls.

The regional administrative authority in the city of Ulm ordered the villagers of Ballendorf, 20 kilometres to the north, to go to the polls again - but this time without the enticements.
