I do have math skills and music skills ( which are said to be related neurologically) but I am terrible at putting mechanical things together.. As far as the drums go, I have always said that if you can dance, you can play the drums! My teacher says that I am too intellectual about it, and I do best when I just "feel it" and that is an interesting disconnect... in drumming. He says I am getting a lot better though, I have been taking lessons for about a year.

seriously, I would like to hear what you play... maybe we can trade some MP3s or something. Although I will have to get advice here at home about how to send such things.

Prior to taking lessons I used to be told that I played "weird" but for some of my alt friends that was a good thing. The friend who said that was in a band called Morphic Resonance Trio, which might explain why he liked those who played somewhat unconventionally.
