Are Republicans funny? Creative?
I've nursed a theory for a long time that what makes one person a repug and another person sane might have to do with some kind of chemical or metabolic reason. An enzyme in the brain or something. To wit, think about this:

Are there really very many funny Republicans? Most of the ones I know, their senses of humor are based on someone being hurt or downtrodden (I'm sure a breakdown would reveal a lot of repub 3 Stooges fans), versus situational or character-driven comedy.

I have the same theory about the creative impulse. Who can they really claim? Clancy? Milius? John Wayne? Heston? Pleeeze.

1. Republicans are hilarious
if you're a 7 year old.

2. Serious lack of creativity
There is some research into the "conservative mindset." It is characterized by rigidity, and an intolerance of alternative viewpoints.

This is a serious handicap for a creative person. When they are successful in a creative industry, it tends to be because they find a "niche" product and hammer it to death (Terminator XII, anybody?)

3. To somebody somewhere, yes.
Humor relies on an agreement between the performer and the audience that what is being presented is, in fact, funny.

Somewhere ,at this very moment, someone is getting terrific laughs with a racist joke because he is telling it to the right audience.
