A true challenge for the Lounge: what kind of jelly beans should I buy for the Easter baskets?

6. WEll, I don't want to get into an argument over licorice or no licorice,

but my real search is for the ultimate combination of texture and flavor regardless of the particular flavor.

The only problem with black licorice, IMO, is that if you admit liking it, everyone wants to trade you theirs and that's all you end up with!


Which brings up the sub-thread, if you like black licorice and the other person doesn't, are you morally obligated to give them a lemon, lime or cherry etc in trade for their black jelly bean?

Skin, bones, offal, and other animal parts. "Animal fat" is an old but expedient way to describe the skin component, but you're right. It isn't really accurate and DU members are better informed than the general public. I stand corrected.

But (at least) one of my local dollar stores sells Belly Flops,
which are Jelly Belly rejects sold at 1/3-1/2 of the normal price.

. I agree with the Jolly Ranchers choice (figures KALI would go
