Why is this year's Oscars only going to be 80 seconds long?

I keep hearing advertisements about "Don't miss this year's 80 second Oscar celebration"

I know they've been trying to pare down the speeches and get people on and off stage more quickly.

But 80 seconds?! That's crazy.
