I once knew a guy that would order a 50 piece every other day! I worked with this dude and he was disgusting when he ate. He could eat a whole nugget in one bite. Everyone said that he keeps a 50 piece on his dash board and pops them like tic tacs.

and they were more real than they are today. The last time I had them, I got a four-piece for a dollar and they were absolutely horrific, that was at least two years ago.

10. I worked in a chicken processing plant for years

I know exactly where McNuggets come from.

I don't eat them.

After the birds go through the kill room, they are defeathered, and their heads and feet are removed. Then they go through evisceration, where their internal organs are removed (livers and hearts separated out for sale).

The birds go through the chiller, a series of long tanks of chilled water, to rinse them off and bring their temperature down to below danger level. After the chiller, they're cut in half at the waist. The bottom half becomes leg quarters or gets further separated into drumsticks and thighs.

The top half goes to deboning. Here, the upper part of the chicken is mounted on a long belt with cones sticking upright. The first person makes a cut and loosens one wing from the carcass; then the next wing is loosened. Then someone cuts the wings out (the wings are often further separated). Then the breasts are removed. One worker then makes an incision, cutting the tendon that holds the tenders to the carcass. The tendons are snipped off, then the tenders are pulled off.

At the end, the carcass drops into a big cardboard container, to be shipped off to another plant or another part of that plant.

Lots of little specks of meat are splattered all over the deboning line during this process. Periodically, a worker will scrape all these up and drop them in a container. These little bits, as well as all the meat that's left on the carcasses, as well as any breasts or tenders that are mangled or damaged in such a way that they can't be sold, are then processed into nuggets. Yum? (IIRC, they also drop a lot of dark meat in there too, but that comes from the leg quarter section, and that's the only section of the entire plant I never worked in.)

FWIW, I do eat chicken.
