I graduated High School in June 2008 in my small rural farm town in Indiana. Throughout High School I realized I have an amazing gift of superb writing skills. As Class President for 3 years in a row, I always wrote the best most inspiring speeches and my skills of Public Speaking are second to none. I always knew I had to go to college, yet like most, I decided I'd take a year off then go to college. Well needless to say that year has now turned into two years and I am working at a dead end job with no hope of a successful future in sight.
Last Week I was contacted by an advisor at a college called ITT Technical Institute, basically a community college with flexible scheduling to ensure I could keep my job. I went down and toured the campus and fell in love with it and the concept of being back in school. My passion is politics my ultimate goal is to run for public office one day and I have faith that with hardwork and dedication I will get there. Yet as a community college the choices for my major were extremely limited. My second passion has always been Law Enforcement. Every since I was a kid I have been fascinated by the concept of the law and policing. So I decided I would major in Criminal Justice because it is something I am actually passionate and excited to learn about and be a part of.
I am just super excited about going back to school. I would encourage anyone that its never to late to go to school. I am looking forward to the days, weeks, and months ahead and I will keep the DU family updated on how school is going!
