How popular is Courtney Love?

Michelle Malkin is a columnist cut from the same stone as Ann Coulter, but not nearly as entertaining (one could call her "dull" or "boring" or "I'd have a better time eating dirt than reading a friggin' Malkin column"), and since I'm apparently stupid (just read my posts on my experience with the Free Republic), I decided to read the latest Malkin column.

The column is about Courtney Love. Now, maybe I'm horribly behind the times, but does anyone actually care about what Courtney Love is up to in her personal life? Is she news? Could it be that Michelle Malkin had a tight deadline and decided to write a column on a person no one cares about? Malkin has also previously written a column that used some material from here at the Democratic Underground.

Maybe I'm beating my own drum but I think my columns are just as good as hers. And hopefully my fellow DUers have read today's column! I know Plaid Adder is better known, but I think I have some funny material in today's column.

...I daresay the late Brautigan would approve. At the same time, the wreck she presents on TV and radio talk-shows these days is truly pathetic. I can' t square her current public persona with the somewhat sublime rock she's managed to create over the years (and yes, I AM a fan of "Celebrity Skin"). I can only think that it's all a cry for help. I feel damn sorry for her kid...

11. I wouldn't even attempt to make a guess at what

Richard would've approved of musically. Drugs turned him off. I like her acting better than her music. Must admit I haven't heard 'Skin. Wasn't impressed back in the day.

I expect that the recent over the edge stuff is theatre designed to attract attention. Hats off, its working. Otherwise I would imagine her CD would be largely ignored.

12. In Seattle...

The big rock magazine The Stranger, ran an obituary on her just to illustrate the fact that everyone sees it coming.

And everything good that Hole did, Kurt wrote. Like "Teenage Whore"...Kurt so obviously wrote that song, and Dave Grohl has claimed in many interviews that he did write it.

She is a talentless parasite.

She's got a lot of passion, and a bit more talent than the average pop star. I feel sorry for her, and what she's been through. There are people, even on this thread, who accuse her of murdering her husband. She has to live with the knowledge that he killed himself over her, and has to live it out in the public eye, where every crackpot gets to drag up the most painful part of her life for the fun of it, then go about their days while she has to relive the pain. That's a lot of strain on a person.

I can never tell how much is an act, and whether or not she can tell how much is an act. It sometimes looks to me like the media is hoping to drive her to suicide so they can write their stories about it. Sort of a demented Americanized version of Diana.
