Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 08:15 PM by private_ryan
Event Type: Error
Event Source: ipnathlp
Event Category: None
Event ID: 30013
Date: 3/24/2004
Time: 8:02:06 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ***********
Description:
The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on IP address 192.168.2.53, since the IP address is outside the 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 scope from which addresses are being allocated to DHCP clients. To enable the DHCP allocator on this IP address, please change the scope to include the IP address, or change the IP address to fall within the scope.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
=========
I left the IPs and ranges the same. What am I missing?

ps: I love this because the main computer doesn't have to be on. I can access the internet via PC2 while the first on is offline. Great if it crashes. Plus, I can backup the settings and everything.

1. Simply looks like you've got something set where the ip addresses...
don't match the subnet you've defined. You've got an ip address of 192.168.2.53, whereas your subnet defines 192.168.0.0 ... If you had an ip address of 192.168.0.53, you probably wouldn't have had a problem...

2. thank you
I have two NICs on the main PC. I added one by mistake using the router CD via "Add Computer" so apparently it thought it was it's network (?). Disabled that NIC and now once the desktop shows, I can open files immediatly. Before the router it would take at least 30 seconds while it was looking for the DHCP server.
