Submitted my tax return. Got a HUGE refund! Thank you, President Obama!

My refunds for 2008 & 2009 are averaging twice what I received when the Chimp was in the Office. Not to mention the two or three times between 2001 and 2008 when I had to PAY, for Pete's sake! Paying for the tax breaks for the rich assholes who put B*sh in the White House to begin with...

Well, that's all done. Getting a very nice refund this year.

Let's here it for the largest middle class tax cut in American History! :applause:

Some Works To Pay something or other credit ( I can't find it now, but something like that ) really added to the total amount..

Of course, just about all of it goes to bills but damn it will help

2. I got a refund, too, which surprised me

The way I have my W-4 set up I've been pretty close to breaking even the last 3 years- maybe $100 either way. This year I got $549 back on my federal return. I think the main thing that helped me was that I was able to write off the sales tax on a new car I bought last year.

I am fortunate enough this year to be able to use my refund for a new toy.

Serious. I really did forget. Things had taken such an upturn
for awhile that I didn't have to give a single thought to money
for several years.

Tied a string around my finger and everything because I know my
memory has ALWAYS been bad.

The GOOD news is that this should bring the tax bill down very

4. I'm putting mine off because I will probably have to pay.

Been on unemployment so I think I may owe some money. I'll get around to doing my taxes in April sometime.

5. If we get a refund it goes straight into a designated Home Maintenance account.

My designation, not the bank's. That way when the next damn thing breaks down and needs repair/replacement the money will be right there. It works out well, helps keep our monthly cash flow on an even keel and gives us some peace of mind knowing that we have it on reserve.

6. I didn't owe any taxes this year AND got a 1,000 American Opportunity Credit

Lost so much in the market that the money helps so much with tuition.

7. Since my income for last year was under the poverty level for a single person

I cannot compare it with other years, but I did get back more than I ever have remembered getting between Earned Income Credit and Homestead.
