Interesting sky/cloud photo

I saw this flying back from Aruba last night. The sun had just set, and was backlighting some cirrus in an interesting way.

I know, I know, I didn't hold the camera still enough. The one star in the shot is blurred. Still, I thought it was cool.

I don't pay any attention to the Bermuda Triangle either. But your pic looks like some kind of wonderful magical power made that circle.
It's fun to imagine, anyway.

12. That's a pretty likely explanation. Only thing is that the winds aloft last night...

Were pretty strong out of the northwest (about 140 knots) with very little variation in direction or speed. That normally causes a different pattern. Still, contrails are probably the best explanation for the origin.
