How can you listen to "Some Girls" and not laugh?

3. Intriguing. I can tell from your post that you know more than I do about that album.

My only thoughts are that even though I have read critics call that a great comeback album, it is one of my least favorite Stones albums. Just to be blunt: It is a terrible album. It is even worse than "It's Only Rock and Roll" and way, way worse than "Black and Blue."

Your picture of Edie makes me wonder what I don't know.

Edie Sedgewick was most certainly the muse and inspiration for a number of songs.

I mean, it wasn't Exile on Main Street, but it was Mick playing with buttons, seeing what did what...

Sure, a band that has been around since the early sixties shouldn't be fucking with the buttons, but fuck with the buttons he did.

I think its my personal bias: I like experimental.

I love discussing the Stones' albums. They are truly fascinating.

There is a really fascinating book about the making of "Exile on Main Street" that you probably know about. It is called "A Season In Hell with the Rolling Stones" by Robert Greenfield.

"Exile" is my favorite Stones album ever. But it is scary to read about what was going on in that band at that time. Wow.

10. Gilmour/Waters did some genius things

Imagine everything after Dark Side of the Moon, when the band realized him for the genius he was.

Even on the Waters Floyd (The Wall) he delivers significant emotive power that Waters should have appreciated.

For me, it's the most listenable from start to finish, and it is very enjoyable. "Far Away Eyes" is a hoot, indeed, and so is "Shattered" (She doo bee)
