Accidental photo thread.
Edited on Sat Mar-13-10 01:06 AM by qnr
Well, the thread isn't accidental, the photos are.

Do you have any photos that you took accidentally that you feel like sharing? Could be of yourself, an object, a location - anything.

Here's a 'candid' photo of myself.. I was washing some sand off of my face in the restroom at Padre Island National Seashore after having done a lot of shooting from ground level on the beach. The remote for my camera was in the little coin pocket of my pants, and when I leaned against the counter, it fired by accident (I did flip the photo horizontally, due to the fact that there was some text in the mirror image).

Edit: s/due the the/due to the/

1. My dear qnr!
Here you go! I was at an outdoor Christmas party a couple of years ago, and this picture happened: I have no idea how it happened, though...

4. Thanks!
They had a fire pit out in the driveway, and I think I had tried to photograph it, even though it was in low light. The shutter stayed open several seconds after I'd given up the shot, yielding this picture...

I had let go of the camera and that caused the streaks. I think!

I'm glad you enjoyed it...

9. How cute! That first one strikes me as funny for some reason - "Things to do -
gotta go! No time for photos!"

The second one is obviously of Secret Agent Dog; Master of 302 Disguises.

10. Thanks! The first one strikes me funny, too...
I think that Charlie was still pretty anxious, having just returned from the groomer. The groomer had to put him in the car for me and he shifted me into neutral three times, even on the short trip home... x(

As for Jack, it didn't take him long to get wise to the flash, so he usually turns away from the camera. For him, it's easier to take pix outside... :D

Better pix of Charlie and Jack... :loveya:

was supposed to be a real cute one of him rubbing his face on the table leg - but as usual I took too long to postion and he got spooked; he is actually in spring-jump motion there. :D

24. Well, the photo wasn't truly accidental
but it came out so awfully. I was trying to take a picture of the "blue moon" on New Year's Eve 2009 in the rural area of southern Iowa and it was so darn cold that I could just not hold the camera still, I was shivering so much. I have no expertise with shooting photos like most of you all do, I can point a camera and shoot, and that's about it. So the moon looks very deformed. I took picture after picture, and the poor old moon just looked worse and worse. Yup, (s)he was sure blue that night. Me, too, with cold.

26. Hey, it's accidental, in the sense that it's not what you wanted. Actually, I kind of
like the look, you have three distinct moons, yet it's still dark enough that unless you look really closely, there appears to be only one landscape/horizon.

36. I don't have any photos that I took accidentally.
But, I have tons that didn't happen as planned. In this case a strobe was supposed to go off at the end of the exposure freezing me in place. But, I forgot to turn the strobe on so of course it didn't fire.

However, this was only an experiment for another photo that I plan on doing so the stub/lack of hand was of no real importance/consequence.
