City Tries To Eliminate 13,000 FOOT LONG RATS
:scared:

<snip>

SINGAPORE'S famously fastidious rulers will use infra-red cameras and closed-circuit cameras in a new campaign to eliminate the city-state's estimated 13,000 rats, local media reported.

Continuing the no-nonsense approach that has helped lift the Southeast Asian nation from third-world status to first in one generation, all members of the community have also been urged to help eradicate the rodents.

Sewer rats that are up to 30 centimetres long, 23-centimetre roof rats and 15-centimetre house mice are the prime targets of the eight-month campaign that will begin next week.

With precision that may be surprising in other Asian nations but is commonplace in Singapore, the National Environment Agency says there are 8,631 rat holes across the island-state housing about 12,950 rats.

5. You reeled me in
I thought you were talking about DC and the rats where in the Pentagon and the White House. Hey I got an idea why don't we nominate Delay to go to Singapore - You know he was and exterminator before he became a political exterminator.

6. Whew! I thought that was ONE 13,000 foot rat!
But it's 13,000 one-foot rats. Whew! Still nasty, but an air-craft carrier sized rat is scary as all hell!

7. Reminds me of an old (and not very good) joke:
There was a kindergarten teacher who had one boy in her class, Johnny, who always swore. One day she was naming letters of the alphabet and asking students to say a word that began with that letter.

She started, "A". Johnny raised his hand with the other children. She thought "No way am I giving him "A".". She called on Sally, who said "A is for apple."

As she went further, she kept thinking of the swear words Johnny could say to each letter. By the time she got to "R", she had called on every student once, and most of them twice but never on Johnny. She saw him with his hand in the air once again and thought "It's "R". What harm can he do with "R"?".

She said, wincing, "Johnny, can you name a word that starts with the letter "R"?"

"Rats", said Johnny.

Relieved, she said "Very good, Johnny, "Rats"."

"Yeah", said Johnny, "Big fucking rats."

8. We have rats in Baltimore the size of squirrels.
Rat (dumpster diving) watching in the alley behind the cheesecake bakery seems to be popular. I haven't personally participated in this spectator sport.

10. That's a headline you don't wanna play around with.
1 foot isn't all that big for a rat.
